Good morning, Facebook family. I’m up preparing for the weekend. I was just thinking, there are so many great things on the horizon for you. But, in order to realize all of the many opportunities that await, you must have hope. Hope is the emotional state which promotes the belief in a positive outcome related to events and circumstances in one’s life. It is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.
But, when we allow situations in our lives to affect our emotional state and lead us into a place of hopelessness, it leads to discouragement, heartache and possibly physical ailments. Have you ever heard that hope deferred makes the heart sick? There is nothing like hopelessness to make you feel lonely, defeated, worthless, depressed and discouraged. And if you allow these emotions to dominate your heart and mind, it will eventually effect your body and actions.
In Ps. 42:5, David said, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?” He was very discouraged and it’s ok to be discouraged. It happens to all of us, me included. But, we can’t allow ourselves to remain in that state of hopelessness where we stop expecting good things. The next thing David did was tell himself, “Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” In other words, he looked at the state he was in and decided to get up, put his hope in God and begin to praise. Praise involves thanking God for the many blessings in your past, present and future. It forces you to take the focus off of yourself and dwell on the good things in your life. Before long, you will realize that your life isn’t so bad after all. Good things have happened in your past, so it must be possible for great things to happen in your future.
Listen, there is nothing so bad in your life that you can’t rise above it. But, your resurgence begins with your hope in God. Everyday you need to wake up thinking and saying everything in your life will work out for the best. And before you know it, you will see the manifestation of your confession. Never lose hope and you will always find the strength to rise above every challenge. 🙂 I Hope this encourages you. (No pun intended). LOL
